Make your own Cardboard Shoe Rack

After seeing my cardboard creations many of my friends wanted to know how to make them. So I decided to post the steps of instructions to make the Shoe Rack first, as that is very easy, needy and at the same time very expensive too. You may follow the instructions below and make your own shoe rack. Why waste money when you can make your own that looks as good as new.

Materials Required

• 1 Strong Tape (I used the Gorilla Tape from Walmart located in the Tape section).
• 1 Scotch tape / Cello tape
• 1 self adhesive Wall Paper or Shelf Liner of your choice. (It should be washable too.)
• 1 Scissors

Note: If you live outside USA and still would like to make your own shoe rack, you may not be able to get the Gorilla brand Tape mentioned above but Fevicol or any other strong glue and cello tape/scotch tape combination should do. That is what I used before I discovered the Gorilla tape. Similarly if you are unable to find the shelf liner/wall paper, you may just use any good quality sheet or even the plastic lined brown paper used for covering school notebooks can be used with the combination of fevicol or some strong glue with cello tape or scotch tape.

Step 1: Collect 6 similar size cardboard boxes that are rectangular in shape and open on top as shown below.

Step 2: Stick them together using the tape or glue and arrange them as shown below. The skeleton of the shoe rack is ready.

Step 3: Stick the Adhesive wall paper on the floor of each rack shelf and then the sides on the inside. Then stick the paper on the outside, on the top and the sides. See to it that you cover the shoe rack neatly all over, especially the joins. If needed cut small strips of the paper and stick them on the joins and other places where it is not covered well. Use Scotch tape/Cello tape to stick the edges of the paper with the cardboard so that the paper sticks strongly to the cardboard. If you feel the adhesive paper is peeling away from the cardboard just use the scotch tape or fevicol to stick it firmly.

The Shoe Rack is ready in just 3 easy steps. If you have all the materials in hand, it will take less than 2 hours to make the shoe rack.
